Dear Tony,

Thanks so much for your kind and helpful posting.  My friend and I experienced the same scam.  We never lost any money because we knew all along not to risk any money.  But we did waste three hours of our holiday.  The reason we went along with it and agreed to waste our time is because they exploited our sympathy for and support of the Balinese people.  The man who gave us the lottery tickets told us that he would receive a USD$55 commission if we went along to collect our prize and stayed for one hour.  That would keep his family for three weeks.  We endured the presentation for his sake, because we believe the Balinese deserve every bit of support we can offer, and so by going through with the presentation we could let the man earn some money and get a break in life.  We did it for him.  It's very very sad that our love of the Balinese is now being exploited and violated.

kind regards,
Nils Marchant.
